Lorne Estate offers excellent camping facilities for groups of up to 600 participants. With its river and wooded areas the sites are some of the best in Northern Ireland.
The main camping ground, just a short walk from Lorne House, is a flat area enclosed by trees giving privacy and security. Lorne Lodge provides campers with shelter, an activity room, toilets, hot showers and a BBQ area.
The Glen Road site offers a smaller camping area with all the same first class facilities as the main camping ground. Glen Lodge provides the indoor accommodation with the added benefit of a gally kitchen.
At Lorne we offer 3 camping options:
Fully equipped provides customers with everything needed to run a camp. This includes tents (both lightweight and icelandic are available), kitchen equipment, fridge/freezer, boiler, wood, toilets, hot showers and the use of a site hut. Just bring along your personal camping gear and you are good to go!
Equipped with own tents provides customers with all of the above with the exception of tents. Save some money if you own your own tents, but still have the convenience of using all the other equipment.
Unequipped provides customers with camping ground and access to toilet/shower facilities. Great for groups who wish to use their own equipment or for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions where lots of equipment is not required.
It is the responsibility of the campers to put up and take down all tents and ensure they are stored correctly. If the tents are wet on departure, a suitable time must be arranged with the warden for campers to return to pack and store all equipment use. Alternatively, if this is not feasible, the warden can do this for an additional charge.
