Archery Belfast – Aim for the Bullseye at Lorne Estate

Looking for an activity that combines skill, focus, and precision? Our Archery experience at Lorne Estate is a technical and rewarding challenge where participants can learn the art of archery in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

Whether you’re a beginner or returning archer, this activity builds concentration, coordination, and confidence - all while enjoying the excitement of hitting the target.

What to Expect

Your group will be brought down to the archery range, where you’ll take a seat in the sheltered briefing area. The instructor begins with a safety talk outlining the rules of the range and essential preparation steps - including checking that hair is tied back, clothing is secure, and footwear is suitable.

Each participant is then fitted with an arm guard and taught how to position it correctly depending on their shooting hand. Following this, the instructor gives a live demonstration of how to safely load, aim, and shoot the bow.

Once everyone understands the basics, participants take turns shooting in pairs, working closely with an instructor to refine their technique. As confidence grows, the instructor introduces one of several archery games or competitions, designed to test accuracy, teamwork, and quick thinking.

Archery Games & Challenges

Our instructors tailor games to suit each group’s age, size, and ability, ensuring everyone stays engaged and motivated.

Here are some favourites:

    • 🎯 Pizza Game – Each target ring represents a pizza ingredient (dough, sauce, cheese, toppings). Teams must hit the colours in the right order to make their perfect pizza!

    • 🏹 Points Challenge – Compete as individuals or teams to score the highest points by hitting coloured rings or target zones. Great for friendly rivalry.

    • 🧭 Jambon – Miss the target and you’re out! The target gets smaller each round until there’s only one champion left.

    • 🥇 Winner’s Circle – Aim for the centre to claim your place in the circle. Each shot closer to the bullseye earns you the top spot.

    • 🎈 Balloons – Pop as many balloons as you can! A fun, fast-paced group challenge that always gets the crowd cheering.

Archery tends to get everyone involved, with the group cheering each other on in close proximity to the range. It’s a fantastic atmosphere that builds energy, confidence, and camaraderie - all without needing any height-based activity.

Because of its flexibility, archery works perfectly as a standalone session or alongside ropes activities, and can easily be adjusted in length to fit your group schedule.
