Caretaker | 25 hours

£13.21 per hour

What you'll be doing

Set-Up & Outdoor Preparation

  • Get rooms and spaces ready for training, events, and group activities
  • Prepare accommodation and shared areas to a high standard
  • Manage equipment and supplies across the site
  • Set up outdoor spaces for camps and activities

Site Care & Cleaning

  • Help keep buildings and outdoor areas clean, tidy, and ready for use
  • Step in with cleaning duties when needed and keep supplies topped up
  • Keep on top of waste and recycling to maintain a safe, pleasant environment

Maintenance & Grounds

  • Support the upkeep of paths, entrances, and outdoor communal areas
  • Help maintain the grounds, especially during the busy camping season
  • Spot and report any issues to keep the site safe and running smoothly
  • Assist with routine checks and basic records

Health & Safety

  • Work safely and follow all health and safety guidelines
  • Take care when using equipment and materials
  • Support environmentally responsible practices across the site

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience in cleaning, caretaking, or general maintenance - ideally in a busy, customer-facing or outdoor environment
  • Physically fit and happy to be active, with the ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and furniture
  • A keen eye for detail and pride in keeping spaces clean, safe, and well-presented
  • Well-organised, able to manage your time, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, adaptable, and ready to pitch in when needed - including evenings and weekends during busy periods
  • A basic understanding of health and safety practices, including safe handling of cleaning materials (COSHH)
  • Experience working in an outdoor setting or within a visitor-focused environment
  • Practical DIY or basic maintenance skills - happy to fix, mend, and make things work

Working Conditions

  • A mix of indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions
  • An active role involving regular lifting, bending, and moving equipment
  • Use of cleaning products and equipment (full training provided)
  • Flexibility required during busy periods, including some evenings and weekend
